If you've been a longtime reader of my blog, you'll remember that my favorite cupcakes place in Chicago is called Molly's Cupcakes. It was just down the street from my first apartment and the one place that I always hit when I go back to the city.
Well, here is some news that is going to blow your minds... as it did indeed blow mine... there is now a Molly's Cupcakes in NYC. Glory hallelujah! It now beats out Sweet Revenge, Billy's, Magnolia's, and all those other poor suckers for my favorite cupcakes in this town. Amanda and I took a trip in to have cupcakes for breakfast yesterday just to confirm.
We split a cookie dough and cake batter, then I packed away a vanilla with buttercream (my usual) in my purse. The cupcakes were just as good as I remembered.
The location for the store is perfect and it's big with plenty of seating and the requisite board games + sprinkle station like the one in Chicago.
And my favorite thing from the Chicago store, besides the cupcakes obvi, is the swings. Pony up to the counter and have a swing. It's the perfect thing to do first thing on a Saturday morning.
